Ethan’s fingers flew across the keyboard, the half-wilted side of a grilled cheese forgotten on its paper plate beside him. The hum of the student union wasn’t helping—scattered conversations, the faint echo of a vending machine dispensing something metallic, and the relentless clink of a spoon against someone’s yogurt cup three tables down.
He checked the time. Nine minutes. His paper was still missing a conclusion and one citation, and he hadn’t read the short story he was supposed to analyze—just skimmed a wiki page about it and hoped the professor wouldn’t notice.
He wiped his hands on a napkin and went back to typing. “The unreliable narration in Cat Person unsettles the reader’s sense of trust, forcing them to question not just the storyteller’s truth, but their own assumptions about intimacy, power, and gender roles in digital courtship…”
