Ryan goes back to the gym telling himself it’s just for form correction—but the second Danny’s hands are on him again, that lie collapses. Every adjustment is slower, deeper, more intentional than it should be. Ryan feels it everywhere.

By the time my last class lets out, I feel like I’ve been run over. Not metaphorically. Physically. The soreness from yesterday’s workout has officially matured into something biblical. My quads burn. My glutes ache. My calves twitch every time I shift in my seat, like they’re holding a silent grudge.

I don’t say anything as I pack up my laptop. Just nod along while the guy next to me complains about the midterm. My brain is mush. My body’s worse.
