✦ Special Note: A Note on Fidelity and Perseverance

There are days where all I want to do is shut down my computer and just hang it up. But then I read your comments and your thoughts and it reminds me why I do this in the first place. It reminds me that The House of Thorne is bigger than one person—it’s bigger than me.

Some of you have taken a genuine interest in my life and not the writer side of me—the other side that doesn’t get to show himself very often, at least not on Substack. And because of that oftentimes, I feel this sense of rejuvenation and it gives me purpose. It gives me drive. And it makes me want to make you proud.

If fidelity to truth is the code of our craft, then surely the code of our calling is faithful service to that unwritten commandment that says we shall leave our characters more honestly known than we ourselves first imagined them, and leave our stories better than they were when we found them.
