The Thorne Report
The Thorne Report #13
Monthly news, production updates, deals, and notes from The House of Thorne.
✦ Welcome
There’s a change of season coming to the House—and a few familiar men are finding their way back inside.
This month: a pause in the Hamptons, two returning stories, a bigger website and app update, a HUGE Labor Day sale, and another way to make the House your own. I also have a few questions for you. You’ve been reading, reacting, and telling me exactly what you think of these characters. Now I want to hear a little more about the experience on your side of the page.
Let’s get into it.

FAKING THE FIANCÉ
A fake engagement is a bold way to avoid your mother’s matchmaking. Forgetting to tell your fiancé? That’s where things get interesting.
Dr. Arjun Kapoor has volunteered his sunny, dinosaur-scrub-wearing colleague Casey for two weeks of pretend romance at his family’s estate in Rajasthan. Cue meddling relatives, carefully negotiated pet names, and one very inconvenient bed. What Arjun doesn’t know: Casey’s feelings aren’t part of the act.
If you like your MM romance with grumpy/sunshine chemistry, family chaos, and men whose medical degrees haven’t prepared them for feelings, meet Faking the Fiancé by C. G. Macington.

RECKLESS INTENTIONS — A Pause, Not an Ending
Alex Baker went to the Hamptons with a broken heart and a plan. Between Jack Harrington’s carefully managed world and Everett George’s knowledge of where the cracks are, revenge has become something much more complicated than getting even.
Reckless Intentions will take a planned hiatus after Chapter 7.
I’m adjusting the release schedule as we move into the next round of stories. That means stepping away from the Harringtons for a little while—not closing the book on them. If you’ve been waiting to catch up, this is your moment to get acquainted with the betrayal, the beautiful surroundings, and the increasingly ugly business underneath.
I’ll share the return date when it’s settled. In the meantime, tell me where you stand on Alex. Are you still rooting for him? Or has the revenge started to trouble you as much as the betrayal?

HELP SHAPE THE NEXT CHAPTER OF THE HOUSE

You guys are very good at telling me when a character needs to get his life together. I’d like to borrow some of that honesty for the House itself.
I want to know how you’re reading. Do you open a chapter as soon as it arrives, or save a few and make an evening of it? Are you keeping up comfortably, or has the release schedule started to feel like homework? Which stories do you want more of—and which parts of the website or app do you actually use?
The reader survey is a chance to tell me what’s working, what’s missing, and what you’d change. Free, Limited, Premium, or Platinum: if you spend time here, I want to hear from you.
I can see that someone opened a page. That doesn’t tell me what made them stay. You can.
About 3 minutes. No name or email required. Written responses are optional.
✦ Subscriber Updates
LIMITED — IF YOU DON’T MIND THE WAIT

If you missed the introduction in the last Report, Limited is another way into the House: $5 a month or $50 a year.
It’s for readers who are happy to wait four weeks for eligible chapters. Premium and Platinum receive Early Access; Limited unlocks those chapters on Wide Release, 28 days later. Chapter One remains the shared introduction, available to everyone without the wait.
Those Wide Release dates open access to the existing chapter. They don’t send a second release email.
And if you’ve noticed the name Premium appearing where Paid used to be, that’s intentional. The name has changed; the price has not. I’ll be adding more to Premium as the membership options develop, and I’ll keep you posted on those additions here.
Different ways to read. More room to find the one that fits you.
✦ Upcoming Projects
WHEN WE WERE STILL OURS — BOOK 2
Some of the hardest things to repair are the things that still look intact from the outside.
Tripp’s carefully controlled life and the truth of his relationship with Aaron have never fit together as neatly as he wanted them to. Beneath the secrecy and the choices he thought he could contain is the question that keeps pulling me back to these men: what happens to love when it has to reckon with the whole truth?
Aaron and Tripp return this October in When We Were Still Ours: Book 2.
If you’ve been carrying them around since the earlier chapters, we’re going back. If you haven’t met them yet, give yourself time to start at the beginning. This is a story where the quiet moments deserve your attention, too.
THE STEPDAD DIARIES — BOOK 2 (WATCH THE TRAILER)
Harrison and Jeff are coming back, too. And if you’ve spent any time with these two, you know a simple explanation has never been their strong suit.
Family loyalty, identity, and the things people keep from one another have made The Stepdad Diaries one complicated place to spend time. It’s the kind of story where you can understand a character’s choice and still want to pull him aside for a very long conversation.
The Stepdad Diaries: Book 2 returns to the House this October.
I’m keeping the next part of their story to myself for now. Get caught up, revisit the moments you’re still arguing about, and be ready to spend more time with Harrison and Jeff.
✦ House Updates
OCTOBER 18 — THE HOUSE REMEMBERS YOU

There’s the chapter itself. Then there’s everything you do after you finish it: go back to a line, question someone’s motives, compare notes, or wonder what on earth I was thinking when I wrote it.
The website and app update planned for October 18 is being built with more of that reading life in mind.
Alongside the personalized My House space, clearer release tracking, reading controls, and richer profiles, there are a few additions I’m especially excited about:
Global murder boards. A shared place to bring your theories about a story, connect clues, and watch the conversation develop as new chapters arrive. For those of you already building a case in the comments: I see you.
Commentary requests. Highlight a passage and ask me about it. A character choice, a line that stayed with you, a detail you suspect means something—this gives those questions a place to land. I won’t be able to answer every request, but I want to make room for more of that conversation.
Spoiler warnings. Mark a community note or comment before posting so readers can decide whether they’re ready to see what’s inside. Being excited about the latest chapter shouldn’t mean accidentally ruining it for someone else.
The preview shows which features are intended for Desktop, Mobile, and App, and which are still Planned. The October release is still being tested; private murder boards are reserved for a later update.

THE OMNIBUS IS HERE

For those of you who like to settle in with a collected edition: the omnibus is now available in the House Bookshop.
There’s a different pleasure in returning to a story without waiting for the next installment. You notice an early detail differently. A conversation lands harder because you know what follows. Or you simply get to keep reading when one more chapter turns into three.
You can now open individual titles in the Bookshop to read more about each edition and share its own page. If you’ve been waiting for the omnibus—or looking for something to spend a longer evening with—go take a look.
A LITTLE HOUSE OF THORNE, OFF THE PAGE
Yes—merch is coming.
Apparently, occupying your reading list wasn’t enough. I’d like a little space in the rest of your life, too.
I’ll be showing you more as the first pieces come together. For now, consider this the first peek behind that door. The collection, prices, and ordering details will get their own proper reveal.
Tell me what you’d actually want. Something understated that only another House reader would recognize? Or something that makes your allegiance a little less subtle?
I have a feeling you’ll have opinions. Let’s hear them.
✦ Commissioned Stories
Some stories start with me. Others start with you.
If there’s a dynamic, a tension, or a moment you want explored, this is your way in. Bring me the premise—the what if—and I’ll shape it into something lived-in, layered, and true to the House.
Rates start at $100 for a 7,500-word story with the option for narration. Commission clients will also receive Executive Producer credit. DM me to get started today!
✦ A Special Note On Making Room
I’ve been thinking about the difference between keeping things moving and giving them room to matter.
When you’re building something you care about, it’s easy to answer every new idea with yes. Another story. Another feature. Another way to bring people closer to the work. But there’s only so much attention in a day—mine and yours—and I want to be thoughtful about what I ask of both.
That’s part of the adjustment happening here. Some stories will pause. Others will return. I’ll keep listening to what makes this place worth your time, and to what might be getting in the way.
I love that you bring more than an appetite for the next chapter. You bring interpretations I hadn’t considered, affection for characters who don’t always deserve it, and sometimes a comment that reminds me why I wanted to write a particular story in the first place.
Thank you for that. And thank you for continuing to make room for the House.
Until the next ember catches
Ever yours in shadow and flame
