Volume 1, Issue 2

✦ Welcome

You’ve found your way back to The Thorne Report.

Another dispatch from the House of Thorne — where stories smolder, secrets shift, and nothing ever cools for long.

Inside: updates, behind-the-scenes notes, and a few sparks I couldn’t keep to myself. Consider this your standing invitation to linger a little longer.

✦ Upcoming Installments*

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be wrapping up stories currently in release—Greatest Hits, Firewall, and The Last Flight Out. The Covenant of Heat—a crossover series with T. Grant Wilder 🏳️‍🌈 Is also in release, but this limited series’s is only being made available to paid subscribers. But not to worry, we have some fresh stuff coming to the House and I’m excited to announce three new stories that are all queued up and ready to go.

Muscle Memory

Ryan knows how to push through pain—study, lift, survive. But when Danny steps in to catch the bar before it crushes him, the lesson shifts. What happens between them isn’t planned; it’s reflex. Touch, breath, muscle, all memory in motion. Sometimes the body remembers what the mind won’t let it say.

Temporary Monuments

When Tate Fetterman shows up to his old roommate’s dorm with a proposition, Shea follows—because some histories won’t stay buried. Their one-night mission to reclaim Tate’s good name turns reckless and intimate fast. Temporary Monuments is about the marks we leave on each other—the kind that fade, and the kind that never do.

Forever

Patrick’s rule is simple: never stay past seven. Aiden’s rule is simpler—don’t hope for more. But when the morning stretches past its limits, neither can pretend it’s casual anymore. Forever asks what happens when a moment built to end decides to stay.

*No firm release dates yet as I’ve been modifying the stories currently in release on the fly so some have more parts and some have less than when they were originally scheduled. But not worry, there’s plenty to look forward to until then.

✦ Subscriber Updates

When this newsletter was released the last time, we had just broken 200 subscribers. Today, we’re over 600! We’ve been consistently featured on the Rising in Fiction list, ranking as high as #8 and our audience has grown tremendously. I am so grateful for each and every one of you.

If you’re reading this as a free subscriber, know that there are rewards waiting behind the curtain—including bonus content and early access. Paid subscribers, your loyalty keeps the House of Thorne standing—I literally could not do this without you.

For now, we aren’t currently running any sales but there will be one more FLASH SALE between now and the end of the year, After that sales will only be made available to new subscribers to give the publication a chance to stand on its own merits—which I think it does.

You can now obtain your subscription with pay over time using Klarna, just choose pay over time at checkout.

And…

THE TIP JAR IS NOW OPEN

I hear from a lot of you that you want to support the work that I do, but funds are tight. Well now you can use the tip jar. In the coming weeks I’ll work out a system so that larger tip amounts will get you access to certain perks, and this will work retroactively so feel free to use the tip jar and reap some benefits later.

✦ Upcoming Projects

Here’s what’s smoldering just beyond the horizon:

  • A SECOND Crossover Event — A collaboration with another fan-favorite Substack writer. Two worlds. One fire. More details to follow!

  • More Subscriber Contest — Your chance to win special perks. Details soon.

  • New Stories — The next big story is a political thriller spinoff from our last Milestone story—The Congressman’s Intern. In this new spinoff, aptly titled The Congressman’s Son, Adrian gets into even messier situation as he inadvertently hooks up Congressman Alexander Blake’s son, Spencer Blake. Things start to spiral when Adrian finds himself caught in the middle of a DC scandal which forces him to choose between father and son. And this time everyone is involved, The NSA, the CIA, the Washington Post and the White House itself.

  • Night Shift 2. When we hit our 500 subscribers milestone, we released Night Shift and it quickly became one of the most popular stories to date. Today, I’m trying to decide if I should come back with a sequel or spin it off into a serial—why don’t you guys decide:

I’ll announce the results in a week!

The tip jar is now open!

✦ Special Note: A Note on Endings

Stories have their own gravity.

You can plan, outline, coax, and plead—but sooner or later, they start to tell themselves. They find their own rhythm, their own heartbreak, their own inevitable truth.

Not every story ends with a bow. Some end in longing, in silence, in the soft sound of a door closing before you’re ready. Others end in laughter, or tears, or something that looks a lot like both. But that, to me, is the point—the ache is part of the art.

My job as a storyteller is simple: to open the door. To build the world, breathe life into the ones who live there, and then get out of their way. Where they go from there—how they love, how they break, how they try again—is never mine to control.

And that’s the quiet magic of it all.

The story always knows where it’s going.

I just have to be brave enough to follow.

Until the next dispatch, keep your heart open and your pulse quickened.
The House of Thorne is only just getting started.
